Sometimes, an opportunity lands in your hands, and you just have to run with it.
Sometimes, that opportunity doesn't present itself as an opportunity either.
My media production "journey" started back in 2012 as a songwriter for a punk band, believe it or not. Writing songs, recording demos, and eventually getting a diploma in audio engineering and production in 2016.
A few years in the live events industry and one nasty car accident later, I found myself asking "what's next?"
My good friend Shayne Masyoluk came to me with a project in the summer for 2019: editing some videos for a new client. At the time, I'd never really opened a video editing program before outside of Windows Movie Maker back in the 2000s, but I figured I'd give it a shot.
At the time, did I think that would jumpstart what would become a career in video production, photography, and social media / content management? Of course not: I was just helping a friend and making a little extra money on the side.
Not even a month later, I found myself at the old Simon Fraser University Hockey office pitching myself as a "video services provider." Within weeks, I was managing their social media feeds and providing not only video, but photography and graphic design as well.
Either one of those places could be considered the "start" to this career, and my goals from that point forward haven't wavered: get a little bit better at what I do every single day, and provide the best product for my clients and their needs.
I've been fortunate enough to provide video, photo, social media, and communications services over the last handful of years to the likes of Wasserman Sports (Air Canada, CPKC, etc.), Canucks Sports and Entertainment, the Kelowna Rockets, SW Event Technology, SoFar Sounds, and more. As recently as this year, I've also been nominated for Best Videographer in the Best of Kelowna Awards.
At the end of the day, I'm here to provide the right solutions to advance your goals, and making sure it's of the highest quality that I can provide.
